2007's Out Like Shout, Searchles Takes on '08 With Starry-eyes and Big Plans

Well everybody else seems to be doing it...it's time to reflect on the year-gone-by. It was a big year for Searchles, a big year for the 'interweb', a big year for pomegranates and their martini counterparts - a special thanks to Oprah. We're pretty much waiting for the Winfrey-beast to blow up our spot too. Exciting changes we implemented this year? User-ratings, switching our homepage to top-rated content, Searchles TV, SEARCHLES TV REMASH, quietly badmouthing Digg to ourselves around the office, updating our network search button...as you can see, Dumbfounder's been working hard - sacrificing a Redskins game or two for the greater good.

What can we expect for 2008? I think hipsters will go out of style, there will be a resurgence of Shelley Long movies, and Searchles site enhancements will rock you like a hurricane. Expect an even better, more-relatable homepage as well as some other exciting announcements early on in '08 that are just too hot to share on this here blog. My favorite part: The "real spark-plug in that engine" line (cheese-factor...high) and the genuine look of excited bewilderment on average Joe's face after discovering the truth about Searchles.


Video #2 - searchle it! Bookmarklet Tutorial

What it is: It's a "searchle it!" bookmarklet tutorial.

My favorite part: The soothing voice and closing out the short and sweet video with smiley faces - leaves me all warm and fuzzy inside.


Video #3 - How to share your content, post to groups, reach the homepage!

What it is: A short film set to hot beats on how to get your posts, videos, and channels to the homepage - as well as how and why to save them to relevant groups...all to maximize your social searching potential.

My favorite part: The way dude seems to fall sideways out of the frame as if he's all "I'm getting out of the way NOW"...and the striped sweater.


Video #4 - Searchles TV Remash

What it is: Shows you how to use Remash and why you can no longer live without it - editing YouTube videos and mashing up the clips into one embeddable player.

My favorite part: The pretty flower arrangement behind average Joe's computer.


Video #5 - Dumbfounder's Chair

What it is: Somebody insulted Dumbfounder's chair - calling it fancy shmancy. The result was this counter-offensive video.

My favorite part: The camera work.


Video #6 - Caveman's Plea

What it is: Searchles' own Caveman pleading with the YouTube and web-surfing public to feed us videos.

Video #7 - A Dramatic Interpretation of Searchles - A Mockery of Stick Figures Near and Far

What it is: I really don't feel like getting into it.

My favorite part: Steve Guttenberg + spandex + Johnny 5 = Every woman's wildest fantasy....in 1986, maybe spilling over into '87.
